Branding and label design for Huron County’s very first vineyard cultivating unique wines from a rich and flavourful terroir.
Huron County has had a long and successful history in agriculture however growing grapes was an impossible task. The Landsborough family were determined to prove they could by transforming their own land into the County’s very first winery.
Their vision was to respect and protect the biological diversity of the estate with less intervention in processing. This meant fewer chemicals and gentler filtering practices. This “hands-off” approach would allow the richness of the earth to influence the wine.
Through patience and trial and error, success finally came knocking. It was decided that “Maelström” would become the perfect name to symbolically represent the prosperity that arose from the adversity endured through this cultivating process.
Maelström was now ready to make their mark in Huron County with a new brand and set of wine labels for their first lineup of limited edition bottles. The goal was to illustrate the Maelström story through a refined and elegant visual that was just as vibrant as their palatable wines.
The buzz of the Landsborough family’s success quickly spread throughout the region with many people flocking to the vineyard. Their line of wines continue to be a strong favourite within the whole of Huron County.
